  Moio, a brand rooted in the rich culture of Zimbabwe, was founded by 18-year-old Gemma Levy, who sought to blend tradition with modern design. Gemma's journey began amidst the lively flea markets of Zimbabwe, where she learned the intricate art of beading from skilled craftspeople. Fueled by a desire to make a positive impact, Gemma turned her passion into purpose during the challenging times of the pandemic, founding Moio. What started as a project to support struggling artisans soon blossomed into a dynamic mother-daughter-run social enterprise. Based and designed in Brooklyn, Moio, led by Gemma and Danielle Levy, a mother-daughter team, specializes in modern bracelets crafted from sustainable glass beads sourced from Czechoslovakia and Japan.
